While at work today (I work at a movie theatre) I was waiting for 2 girls mid 20's to exit the film while it was in credits. when Ash appears at the end of the film one of the girls looks at the other and says Hey I think that guy was in the second one. I laughed at them as they left the movie and i asked if they enjoyed their show and she told me yeah it was ok but they all suck anyways.

Anyone read about the supposed real ending of the movie was? There were people going around saying that the movie originally ended with Mia making her way out of the woods and onto a lone road. A pick up truck pulls up to her and you hear a familiar voice ask her if she needs help and if she needs to get to a hospital. Mia looks up, smiles, and becomes a deadite again. The camera then looks over to the truck's door, marked S-Mart, and then shows that Ash is sitting inside where he says "Groovy".
For a while there were many that thought that was actually shot. But nope. What was shot and might show up on the dvd/blu ray is a scene similar to it. The real ending, which Raimi and Alvares cut, had Mia walk out onto a misty lone road and pick up truck pulls up. It's an old couple and they ask her if she needs help and needs to get to the hospital. Mia looks up at them, smiles, and turns into a deadite.....role credits.
After avoiding reviews and trying to learn as little as possible about the film so as to go into it as open-minded as I could, I finally saw the Evil Dead remake today and have no strong feelings to report. I agree with xtrialbyfirex that the generic look and presence of the cast hurts the film, and their vapid, foul-mouthed dialogue does nothing to endear them to me. (By the way, is it just me, or is the guy who reads from the book a dead ringer for Beavis and Butt-Head's Mr. Van Driessen?) I had a different experience from some others, however, in that I disliked the film for the first half hour or so and then warmed to it somewhat as it picked up and the action got nasty.
Overall, I'd put it on roughly the same level as the Last House on the Left remake. It isn't horrible, but it isn't very good either. Mainly, just as the Last House remake did, it misses the point and the charm that made the original stand out. The 1982 Evil Dead is the quintessentially rough-around-the-edges, handcrafted, low-budget horror gem, so to remake it with a relatively huge budget, stock it with twenty-something tv tarts, and make it slick like any other Hollywood horror movie is to fail to understand what the franchise is about.
i liked the new evil dead if not for the gore and violence alone but i just wished the possessed characters looked and acted like the demons in the original..
they were extremely creepy in the original, they looked and acted like a person that was possessed by the devil....in the new one, they look and act more like zombies from 28 days later or the walking dead...to me the white eyes of the demons in the original were what really made them look scary...
and the voices in the original were really disturbing...plus the jump scares in the original are still effective....in the remake, not so much...

bradtheman: Like all things in life, Deadpit Radio's run had to end at some point. Towards the end, Wes, Aaron, and Steve's hearts weren't in it and that it was time to move on. For what it's worth, I like to thank the threesome for inspiring me to do commentaries.

bradtheman: That and the horror genre was going down the tubes when Aaron and Wes signed off. It still is with the Child's Play remake and I Spit on Your Grave: Deja Vu as examples.

newt138: No mainstream horror was going down the tubes. There was plenty of good mainstream horror. But as fat fuck Wes told many people "Unless we get sent a copy for free I Aint reviewing it."
